Bitcoin Predicted to Reach US$200,000 by 2025 Despite Trump Tariffs

The crypto market is currently facing significant pressure after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a “reciprocal” tariff policy targeting 15 countries, including China, Canada, Mexico, and several Southeast Asian nations such as Indonesia.

This policy has raised concerns over a potential global recession and triggered volatility across various financial markets.

Impact of Tariff Policy on the Crypto Market

According to information from Coinvestasi on Friday, April 4, 2025, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) was trading around US$82,700, based on data from CoinMarketCap.

The crypto asset briefly touched a daily low of US$81,300 with trading volume dropping by 36% to approximately US$34 billion.

Since reaching an all-time high above US$109,100 on January 20, 2025, Bitcoin has fallen more than 24%.

This decline coincides with the tech-heavy Nasdaq index plunging over 5%, triggered by fears of a global recession and potential retaliatory actions from trade partner nations in response to the tariff policy.

Optimism Toward Bitcoin Price Growth

Despite facing short-term pressure, several analysts remain optimistic about Bitcoin’s long-term prospects.

Ryan Rasmussen, Head of Research at Bitwise, stated that the Bitcoin price target of US$200,000 by the end of 2025 remains unchanged.

He believes that once the market absorbs the impact of this tariff policy, a recovery will follow, supported by various positive developments in recent months, such as the U.S. White House building a Bitcoin reserve and a shift toward more crypto-friendly regulatory policies.

Bitcoin as a High-Risk Asset with High Potential

Cosmo Jiang, General Partner at Pantera Capital, views the imposed tariffs as a negotiation tool that could be withdrawn if political goals are achieved.

He added that digital assets, often considered risky, may be the first to suffer corrections but could also lead the market recovery.

Zach Pandl from Grayscale predicted that some tariffs would likely be eased and that the Fed remains on track to cut interest rates this year, which could fuel a market rally in the near future.

Conclusion

While the tariff policy implemented by the Trump administration has placed short-term pressure on the crypto market, many analysts remain optimistic that Bitcoin holds the potential to reach US$200,000 by the end of 2025.

Factors such as the formation of a Bitcoin reserve by the U.S. government, supportive regulatory changes, and the possible easing of tariffs in the future are expected to drive recovery and significant growth in the digital asset market.
