World Network and Visa Prepare Global Stablecoin Wallet

World Network, a blockchain-based ecosystem developed to expand the functionality of the Worldcoin biometric identification system, is reportedly in talks with Visa, the global payment card company.

The goal of this discussion is to integrate blockchain-based card features into World Network’s self-custody wallet.

Visa Card Feature Integration into World Network Wallet

According to a report by CoinDesk on Monday, March 24, 2025, the initiative aims to bring Visa card functionality into the World Network wallet.

This integration includes digital financial services, access to foreign exchange applications, and fiat on-ramp and off-ramp services.

As a result, users will be able to make stablecoin-based payments to thousands of merchants within Visa’s global network.

Comprehensive Connected Wallet Strategy

The integration plan includes a strategy for a fully connected wallet. Users will be able to exchange various currencies, both fiat and crypto, top up balances, send funds, and make direct payments via card.

The goal is to make World Wallet function like a mini bank account accessible to everyone.

Collaboration with Crypto Card Providers

In its development, World Network has also held discussions with various crypto card providers, including Pluie, a company backed by Coinbase and Circle.

Pluie previously issued on-chain Visa cards for projects like Optimism and Avalanche.

Background of World Network

World Network was founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Its core offering is World ID, described by the company as a digital passport to prove that the holder is a real human being and not an AI chatbot online.

In its latest development, World Network launched a new feature called World Chat, which allows users to send funds through crypto transactions between users within the network.
